A Phenomenological study on work stress of new adult occupational therapists in rehabilitation hospital

Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to understand the work stress for new adult occupational therapists working in rehabilitation hospitals.

Methods: A phenomenological approach for qualitative research was adopted for this study. Five participants were in depth interview for data collection targets, interviews were conducted over period before and after about an hour, two and three times. Interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed.

Result: The result of the study consisted of 15 sub-components, and 3 components. Participants were reason of new adult occupational therapists(Easy accessibility, self-esteem and expectation, various areas), work stress(therapeutic expertise, confidence, interpersonal relation, physical fatigue, inappropriate pay), and experience the adaptation strategy based on work stress.

Conclusion: This study was to understand the work stress for new adult occupational therapists and how to be proposed strategy accordingly. Further studies will be need to more various work stress for new adult occupational therapists.
